The UT Dallas Deep-dive AI Workshop is an intensive 8-week in-person program designed for advanced high school students aged 15 and up. Participants will delve into the foundations of artificial intelligence and machine learning, gaining practical skills in advanced coding and data analysis. The curriculum includes an introduction to Python programming, essential tools for data analysis like NumPy, pandas, and graphics, and methods for data processing, including handling various file formats, loading data into data frames, and performing basic statistical operations. Students will apply these skills to real-life AI projects, fostering a deep understanding of the subject matter. The workshop is taught by UT Dallas Computer Science doctorate and graduate students, with faculty lead Dr. Anurag Nagar providing weekly sessions. Upon completion, students receive a camp certificate and a performance-based write-up or recommendation letter.
A typical day involves intensive in-person learning and project work from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break, and supervision provided until 4:30 pm.
