Students will build a recommendation system and a smart, interactive chatbot as a final project, applying real-world data and machine learning libraries.
This two-week pre-college summer camp focuses on AI and recommendation systems, utilizing Python coding. Teens will learn the algorithms and techniques behind artificial intelligence and how machines predict preferences. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, with students developing a smart, interactive chatbot tailored to their interests and building a recommendation system using real-world data like the MovieLens 100K dataset. Students will gain practical skills in Python coding, understanding the machine learning lifecycle from data gathering to model testing, and exploring responsible AI use. The curriculum also covers collaborative filtering, content-based recommendation techniques, and connecting APIs that leverage large language models for conversational chatbots. Upon completion, participants receive a physical certificate from Circuit Stream and the affiliated university.
Classes run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 1-hour lunch break. Students attend lessons with an instructor and participate in additional activities and lab work to apply what they've learned.
This camp is ideal for learners aged 13-18 interested in the growing field of Artificial Intelligence, with no prior programming experience required.
