The SMU Lyle School of Engineering Advanced Engineering Summer Program is designed for rising 9th and 10th-grade students who have prior experience with engineering, design, or integrated STEM programs. This day camp offers a creative environment for students to delve deeper into engineering fundamentals through hands-on, interactive team projects. Participants will explore general processes and topics in electrical, mechanical, civil and environmental, and computer science. The curriculum, designed by CIEE faculty, staff, and counselors, emphasizes the engineering design process. Students will gain practical skills by working on carefully designed activities and projects, mirroring real-world engineering challenges. The camp aims to further students' knowledge and experience in various engineering disciplines and foster an interest in STEM careers.

What a typical day looks like

A typical day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and includes curriculum and projects, all project materials, lunches and snacks, and mentorship from SMU Lyle Engineering students and DFW college Science & Engineering students.
