About this camp

The Summer Biology Research Workshop (SBRW) at UT Dallas offers high school students a 4-week immersive research experience. Participants engage in hands-on projects within the Department of Biological Sciences laboratories, collaborating with peers, graduate students, and faculty. The program includes a one-week hands-on training component focusing on essential laboratory tools and techniques, followed by three weeks of mentor-guided discovery research. Students will attend departmental seminars and 'Works in Progress' presentations, culminating in a research presentation at the Summer Departmental Research Symposium. This workshop aims to enhance academic skills, foster critical thinking, collaboration, and a passion for scientific discovery through authentic scientific inquiry in cutting-edge biology projects.
