About this camp

The Texas Rangers Youth Academy's Science of Baseball & Softball program is a two-week summer camp designed for students in 3rd-5th grade (ages 8-11) that connects science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with baseball and softball. The program aims to develop well-rounded, confident players by focusing on position-specific defensive skills, throwing mechanics, base running, and situational drills that teach smart decision-making on the field. Daily hitting stations will cover swing mechanics, timing, approach, and contact. Campers will be grouped by age and ability to ensure appropriate instruction and maximum development. The curriculum also exposes students to careers in the STEM and sports workforce. Competitive games are integrated throughout the day, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired skills in live action while building confidence, baseball/softball IQ, and a love for the game.
