About this camp

The UT Dallas Computer Science K-12 Outreach 8-week Deep-dive AI Workshop is an intensive, in-person program for advanced high school students. Participants will delve into Artificial Intelligence and machine learning concepts, gaining hands-on experience with Python programming and essential data analysis tools like NumPy, pandas, and Matplotlib/Seaborn. The workshop covers topics such as machine learning model building, including decision trees and neural networks, and explores modern AI concepts like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), LSTMs, and Transformers. Students will apply their knowledge to real-world projects, such as image classification or text-based mini-projects. The program aims to equip students with advanced coding and data analysis skills, culminating in a capstone project and presentation of their findings. Participants also have the opportunity to receive a recommendation letter based on their performance.
