This intensive 8-week workshop provides advanced high school students with a rigorous, university-level AI research experience taught by UTD CS doctorate and graduate students.
The Deep Dive AI Workshop is an 8-week intensive program for advanced high school students (age 15+) to explore artificial intelligence. Taught by UTD CS doctorate and graduate students with faculty lead Dr. Anurag Nagar, the workshop covers foundational Python and data science, data processing and exploratory data analysis, and an introduction to machine learning concepts. Students will delve into core machine learning models, neural networks, deep learning basics, computer vision, sequence models, and modern AI. The program culminates in model evaluation, ethical AI discussions, and a capstone project with presentations. Participants will gain advanced coding and data analysis skills, applying them to real-life projects.
A typical day runs from 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour-long lunch break. Supervision is provided from 9am to 4:30pm.
This workshop is ideal for passionate and highly motivated advanced-level high school students (ideally finishing 10th and 11th grade) who are eager to delve deep into AI with minimal guidance.
