This intensive 8-week program offers advanced high school students a deep dive into AI with real-world project applications and the opportunity to receive recommendation letters for impressive work.
The UT Dallas CS 8-week Deep-dive AI Workshop is an intensive, in-person program for advanced high school students (age 15+ by June 8th, 2026) passionate about Artificial Intelligence. Participants will delve into core AI and machine learning concepts, including data processing, statistical analysis, and model building. The curriculum covers practical applications using tools like NumPy and pandas for data analysis, and TensorFlow for deep learning, including convolutional (CNN) and recurrent (RNN) neural networks. Students will gain hands-on experience in AI/ML model development, evaluation techniques such as ROC curves, and work on real-world projects. The workshop aims to provide a deep understanding of AI with minimal guidance, fostering independent learning and research skills.
A typical day runs from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a lunch break, focusing on exploring AI foundations and machine learning under the guidance of UT Dallas computer science graduate students and faculty.
This workshop is best for passionate and highly motivated advanced-level high school students (ideally finishing 10th and 11th grade) who are thrilled to dig deep into AI with minimal guidance.
